James Barnett is a Partner at Partners Legal Solutions, leading the firm's Property practice.

James has extensive experience across all aspects of property law, including residential and commercial conveyancing, complex related party transfers, commercial and retail leasing, adverse possession matters and proposed use assessments. He works with individuals, families, investors and business owners to deliver practical advice and seamless property transactions.

Having successfully led and mentored high-performing property teams, James combines strong technical expertise with a genuine commitment to client service. His broader experience across commercial law, litigation and tenancy advocacy allows him to identify issues beyond the transaction itself and provide commercially focused advice tailored to each client's circumstances.

James believes that clear communication is just as important as legal expertise. He prides himself on keeping clients informed throughout their matter and values a simple phone call to provide an update or answer questions whenever needed.

Outside the office, James enjoys cooking for family and friends, exploring the wines of the Bellarine Peninsula, playing masters basketball and spending summer days at the MCG watching the cricket.
