From Google to Partners Wealth Group: Strengthening leadership for the next phase of growth

Partners Wealth Group (PWG) has appointed Sarah Robb as Advisor to the Board, with a specific focus on People & Culture. Sarah brings more than two decades of global leadership experience to the role, including a distinguished career at Google.

Sarah has worked across the Americas and Asia-Pacific, advising senior executives including Google's Chief Financial Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer. Her experience spans organisational design, workforce transformation, and leadership at scale - capabilities that are increasingly important as PWG continues to grow and evolve.

Following her appointment, Sarah shared her perspective on leadership, culture, and what attracted her to PWG.

After 22 years at Google, Sarah was focused on where she could make the greatest impact in Australia. PWG stood out because of the pace of growth, but also because of how much emphasis the business places on its people and its ambition to continue building a high-calibre team.

"The dynamic at Partners Wealth Group reminded me of the 'rocket ship' energy of early Google, where opportunities seemed limitless"

"The opportunity to support a business at this stage of growth is compelling," she said. "There's real momentum while also a key focus on keeping the culture and values that made it successful in the first place."

That balance between growth and a consistent but evolving culture was a big part of what attracted her to the role. As PWG expands, particularly through recent acquisitions, maintaining alignment across teams and preserving a cohesive identity becomes increasingly important.

A key focus of Sarah's role will be helping define and articulate PWG's Advisor Value Proposition, ensuring the business continues to attract, develop and retain high-quality talent as it grows. This includes positioning PWG as a destination for best-of-breed advisors seeking both professional opportunity and a strong, values-led culture.

Sarah noted that PWG's "Stronger Together" philosophy is not just a statement, it's something reflected in how the firm operates day to day.

"What stood out is the intentional way PWG approaches culture. There's a clear effort to define and embed what 'The PWG Way' looks like in practice, and to ensure that it's preserved across the offices around Australia."

Her experience in the technology sector has shaped how she views leadership in high-growth environments. During her time at Google, she saw firsthand how organisations can scale rapidly while maintaining clarity of purpose.

"For a growing firm like PWG, I see three principles as particularly relevant right now," Sarah says.

"First is augmentation over automation. It's about using intelligent automation to handle the heavy lifting of data and compliance, which ultimately frees up advisors to focus on what matters most: complex advice and deep client relationships."

"Second, rapid tech shifts demand a non-negotiable commitment to continuous learning. The future belongs to firms that actively invest in adaptability, a growth mindset, and encouraging curious people."

"And finally, culture is the ultimate competitive advantage. Unlike software, a unique culture can't be replicated. High-performing teams thrive on psychological safety, where people can innovate without fear. By embedding those core behaviours across teams, you create an environment that naturally sustains itself as you scale."

For PWG, Sarah sees significant opportunity ahead.

"The quality of the people and the clarity of the firm's direction are strong foundations. The focus now is on scaling in a way that strengthens both, ensuring consistency, developing leaders, and continuing to deliver for clients."

Her appointment reflects PWG's broader approach to growth: combining technical expertise with strong leadership and a long-term perspective, alongside a clear commitment to building a compelling proposition for current and future advisors.

"Sarah's experience operating at the highest levels of a global organisation, combined with her deep understanding of people and leadership, makes her a valuable addition to the Board."
